Kelly Osbourne to Design Plus-Size Clothes

15 Sep

When it comes to fashion , Kelly Osbourne always seems to keep in real–but in a sweet and upbeat manner. Which really isn’t saying much because, let’s face it, silver-tongued Joan Rivers could make anyone seem soft and cuddly, right?

Still,  Osbourne comments on any given celebrities’ outfit, so naturally, when E! spotted her out and about during New York’s Fashion Week, they couldn’t wait to ask her about her own style and body image.

“No one takes notice of a fat girl in fashion,” she said of her own weight when she was a teen.

And as she continued to rant about plus-sized fashion she accidentally let slip to us that she was coming up with her own fashion line.

“My style has evolved because I grew up. People forget that I was fifteen when I started out on The Osbournes and I’m 28 next month. Scary! Scary! So it’s just great that over the years I’ve learned from my mistakes.” says Kelly.

“You know I was having fun back then but no one takes notice of a fat girl in fashion. That’s the truth! It’s sad. That’s why I love women like Beth Ditto who are doing their own clothes. That’s why when my line comes out I’ll never make anything that won’t be translated to plus-size as well. Because everyone deserves to wear fashion.” Kelly Osbourne reveals…

Emerging Designers – Honor

8 Sep

It’s no secret that I’m a big Honor fan. Just about every collections Giovanna Randall has shown thus far in her relatively young career as a designer has been so beautiful and elegant that it takes our breath away.

In her F/W 2012-2013 collection her characteristic boldness could be seen in strong reds and purples and gorgeous big box-shaped bags. Still, she mainly stuck to wearable, classic silhouettes, as she tends to do. I’m actually surprised by the lack of red carpet-worthy gowns, considering her burgeoning popularity with Hollywood starlets like Kirsten Dunst and Shailene Woodley, who was in the front row looking like the low-key, five-finger shoe wearing, former American Apparel employee she truly is.

From the fashion week for this fall these are some of the styles that poped out

From the New York Fashion Week for Spring Summer 2013 Ready-To-Wear Honor collection I chose these looks

From a flirty pink flush to a bright cerulean wink, a pretty spectrum of attention-demanding hues takes center stage with this season’s hottest hair , nails and makeup trends!!!!

A soft gray smoky eye paired with a glossy burgundy lip portrays “gothic elegance and dark romance,” says makeup artist Pat McGrath, who crafted the look at Viktor & Rolf.

Most Artistic: Butterfly Effect

Re-create this season’s smoky eye with color!!!

Image

Seen At: Roberto Cavalli

How-To

Step 1: Dust brown shadow over the entire lid, concentrating pigment on the outer two thirds. Next, press a purple hue into the inner one third of the lid.

Step 2: Layer an emerald shade onto the center, diffusing the edges and lightly blending into the purple and brown hues.

Step 3: For definition, dab more brown shadow around the outer edge, then layer the shade along the lower lash line.

Step 4: Use a Q-tip to press a gold shadow into the inner corners. Finish by completely lining the upper and lower lash lines with black eyeliner.

Seen At: Jason Wu

How-To

Step 1: Dust a golden brown shadow over the entire lid, staying just below the brow bone. Extend the shadow past the outer corner.

Step 2: Using two shades of green liner (for dimension), trace a V shape at the outer edge of the eye and smudge inward to blend. Use a small brush to apply kelly green powder over the liner and above the crease for a shimmery touch.

Step 3: Extend a black liner along the upper lash line and out to the point of the V.

Step 4: Finish with two coats of your favorite black mascara.

Most Reliable: Winged Liner

Clockwise from top left: Fall 2005 Emanuel Ungaro, Fall 2006 Valentino, Fall 2009 Chado Ralph Rucci, Fall 2012 Anna Sui

Perhaps Katniss Everdeen is to blame (The Hunger Games and fashion week do have certain similarities) for the plaits—in many forms—that staged a comeback this season.

Seen At: Ferragamo, Marc Jacobs, Max Mara, Ohne Titel, Pucci

Most Likely to Succeed: Hair Jewels

Seen At: Cacharel, Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta, Rodarte

A side part adorned with colorful (and economical) slide barrettes. At Cacharel, lengths were pulled into a low bun, making the look sophisticated, not schoolgirl

NAILS:

Most Rebellious: Colored Tips

Image

The new French manicure follows just one rule: no white polish. “A classic French looks old-fashioned,” says manicurist Deborah Lippmann, who changed up the look with rounded edges and colored tips. The base shade is also fair game: At Bill Blass, nails were painted burgundy, with thin beige strips.

Seen At: Badgley Mischka, Bill Blass, Donna Karan, Thakoon

Image

A metallic shade. “A touch of gold or silver across the tip almost looks like jewelry,” says Lippmann, who painted nails a dark purple with gilded tips at Badgley Mischka.
