Venice Film Festival 2012

Always one of the most glamorous dates on the Hollywood calendar, the Venice Film Festival kicked off in style in August 30th of 2012 with an influx of stars jetting into the Italian city.

Kate Hudson, Naomi Watts and Laetitia Casta were among the first to board a gondola and grace the red carpet, sweeping in dressed in sumptous gowns designed by the likes of Marchesa, Dolce & Gabbana and Atelier Versace.

Highlights include the premiere of Terrence Malick’s To the Wonder and Paul Thomas Anderson’s much-anticipated The Master, while Miu Miu showed its latest short film on day one entitled “It’s Getting Late” .The short story follows four women as they prepare for a night out in Hollywood, and stars actresses Gemma Arterton, Aubrey Plaza, Patricia Clarkson and Rinko Kikuchi.

AUGUST 30 2012 – Winona Ryder wore a Dolce & Gabbana strapless gown to the premiere of her new film, Iceman.


AUGUST 30 2012 – Naomi Watts wore a Prada dress to attend the premiere of Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales, alongside her husband Liev Schreiber.


AUGUST 29 2012 – Kate Hudson chose an Atelier Versace asymmetric nude gown, accessorised with gems from the Fabergé High Jewellery collection and a Roberto Cavalli clutch, for the premiere of The Reluctant Fundamentalist.


AUGUST 29 2012 – Laetitia Casta arrived at the premiere for The Reluctant Fundamentalist in a Dolce & Gabbana black lace gown.


AUGUST 29 2012 – Fiammetta Cicogna at the opening night party of the Venice Film Festival in an Alberta Ferretti white gown.


AUGUST 30 2012 – Florence Welch wore a Miu Miu autumn/winter 2012-13 printed shirt and contrasting trousers to the Venice Film Festival premiere of Women’s Tales.
